In 2010, at Aster MIMS in Calicut, Kerala, India's inaugural exclusive ED ultrasound machine, the SonoSite M Turbo, was successfully installed. The installation process was accompanied by a multitude of obstacles and difficulties, which we were determined to overcome. In order to obtain financial approval, I pledged my one-year salary as collateral. In retrospect, those were momentous days that transformed the landscape of India's emergency departments. Currently, nearly all EDs have adopted the practice of POCUS.
