I have an ancestral property in Cherukara, precisely on the Cherukara-Chelamala road near the Aligarh University campus in Cherukara-Elamkulam village ( Malappuram District). Originally, my grandfather owned this property, then transferred it to my father and eventually to me. When I inherited it, it was a “Mottakunnu,” barren except for numerous rocks, without a single tree. Fifteen years ago, I promised my father that, God willing, I would build a home on it.  This land is imbued with my childhood memories, including my life there and our affection for plants and domestic animals.
