I am recovering ...thank you so much
I had involved in a road traffic accident yesterday [27.01.2017 around 2.45 pm ] at Coimbatore city in Gandipuram Junction. When I was crossing the road through Zebra cross at the main junction and about finish the crossing, a motorbike came from my right side and hit on my right leg. I fell down on roadside .When look down I could confirm that my right ankle dislocated . Few lay people came to help me. I asked them to take me to a hospital. They caught an auto rickshaw and taken to me Ganga hospital. We reached Ganga around 3 pm, One young man accompanied me in autorickshaw. Even I could not sit into passenger seat. I sat on the floor putting injured leg outside. The leg was hurting too much with pain. I don't know the gentleman who helped me to take me to the hospital . I am so thankful to him, and I am praying for him.
I was in Coimbatore to attend a life savers conference -EMTP con at KG hospital. Many of our colleagues are also participating in the conference including students. God's grace I don't have any major internal injuries and head injury. As I was fully conscious I could call few of my friends in Coimbatore. I called Dr.Narendra Jena, Dr.Saisunder , Mr.BintoK Baby. I called my family as well and informed my status .Dr.Jena, Dr.Sai, Dr.Fabith and few other friends rushed to the hospital and reached in the Ganga hospital shortly. By that time doctors completed my Xray screening which showed ankle dislocation and fracture medial Malleolus plus fibular fracture. Then the expert decision was to take for closed reduction and open fixation later . Then we decided to go ahead with the closed reduction from Ganga and open surgery from Aster MIMS. By 6 pm they took me to the theater and Dr.Bala Venkat a great anesthesiologist gave popliteal block and a short of opioid. That was the most beautiful moment in this scenario. My pain relieved entirely. Pain scale dropped from 6 to zero. It was a wonderful nerve block, and ortho doctors reduced my fracture. Then everything fine.We took an ambulance and moved to Calicut . Mr Binto and Salman my EMS captains accompanied. Dr.Srinath, Dr.Fabith , Dr.Jena, Dr.Sai , colleageuesDr.Prakash andcolleagues were in the hospital to support me. We reached Calicut safely by 2 am and admitted under orthopaedic surgery.
Aster Mims is my own family. They fixed surgery tomorrow 29th Sunday. So far everything moved without many issues.
Some touching lessens: when somebody involved in an accident, you will be fortunate if you are fully conscious, someone to take you safely to hospital, friends, and family to console and help you, if you get adequate and timely pain relief. God's grace I have got all these time .
