The movie of "Meri Bharath Betti" ...Gunjan Saxena

A movie for celebrating independence:

Gunjan Saxena: "The Kargil girl" is a biopic movie based on the true story of the first woman commando pilot who saved many and shined as a twinkling star in the Kargil war.

Story delineates the passionate and enthusiastic chasing and flying behind the dream and reaching the peaks of fulfillment. It is an inspirational movie revealing gender discrimination from home to the workplace which is blended in Indian culture in high concentration.

Gunjan breaks the conventional beliefs on job discrimination like " Certain jobs can be done only by males and certain jobs are supposed to be done by females only ". In fact, this is our typical attitude. But, if someone who is so passionate about their dream, certainly, they will jump all hurdles in some points.

The movie will be inspirational for our daughter. Janvi Kapoor cast as Gunjan did her job. But her expressions and energy levels in the movie are a bit low and I felt some inadequacies sometimes. The micro-actions and solid expressions of Pankaj Tripathi who acted as Saxena are amazing and highly impressive and perfectly organic. The movie is well scripted and directed. Poetic songs are impressive.

When I watched this movie, on lateral thinking as an emergency doctor, I could relate many frames in the movie to this specialty especially in the area of emergency medicine training modes, simulations, crisis management, decision making, heroism, gender discrimination, empowerment, etc.

Certainly, this movie will elevate our independence thought. Dedicated to our lovely daughters ❤️

How Calicut did in plane crash? hospital preparedness

Here is the complete picture of patient's profile who were involved in Calicut plane crash taken from Kozhikode collector's Calicut air crash dash board.

It is very unique in Calicut city that at least 20 hospitals in and around Airport in a radius  of  30km capable of handling injured victims. Out of  this at least 10 are having tertiary level emergency management capabilities and advanced speciality supports. Many of this hospitals are having excellent EM set up beyond our conventional casualty set up. This uneque Calicut profile has tremendously helped a lot for the  "golden hour management" in the present disaster. 

Aster Mims Calicut played a lead role in the  current disaster (47 victims) and managed well the crisis meticulously inspite of its full occupancy . 

NABH accreditations and other quality assurance programs , international and national level EM training programs and disaster management trainings awareness , EMS ,EMCT and EMCT trainings , Basic & Advanced trauma support trainings, mockdrill  etc happened in the last decade in this locality has helped us to bring down the mortality and morbidity tremendously. Activities of Angels , Trauma care Kozhikode  and other organisations could create commendable  impact in the community orientation. The local Government , police and fire force also highly committed and more scientific in the disaster awareness when compared with other part of the country. One of the main reasons for changes can be very well attributed to EM development in Calicut and Kerala.

You may not be able to see much of the old style casualties in Calicut. At the same time you can see many modern emergency departments and few  are accredited with NABH. 

I would to like say loudly  that India need to focus more  aggressively in uplifting emergency medical care urgently.

 India is a country highly  prone for both man- made and natural calamities plus accidents. 

Even  in this pandemic EM has played a major role in sorting and treating patients. EM is handling  suspected Covid cases which is more challenging than managing confirmed cases as the front line warriors. Patients with other medical illnes but with suspected Covid are also land in ED. Writing this note to emphasize the EM challenges might unnoticed very often .

I won't say everything perfect. But definitely better. Need to go a long way particularly in pre-hospital care , out of hospital emergency medical care and medical transportation of the trauma victims. 

Fortunately , no fire explosion in the Calicut air crash. If there is fire , the situation willbe much more disastrous . Infact , we don't have any proper burns center in Calicut  or Malabar area . 

Public response is good in rescue. But it should be streamlined bit more scientifically. I won't say the victims transport to hospitals was done at par with recommendations.

What I recommend that authorities should  call  the review meetings and also entrust  an expert committee to look into every minute aspects of the whole scenario. Open the "black box" of prehospitalcare and  hospital care  management .

My Home theatre - Day one release movie A movie you must watch: I watched the movie "Sakunthala Devi " an Amazone prime OTR movie released on 31st July 2020. In one word it is an amazing biopic made with utmost perfection and precision. Every frame tells the story of the untold story a great Genius, the mathematical magician Mrs.Sakunthala Devi the Indian pride, exactly not the world pride. When the movie begins, Anu, the one and the only daughter filing a case against her mother Sakunthala Devi. Then the movie sequences are reaching us through the daughter's version of Sakunthala Devi's life. It is a story of an extraordinary woman with an extraordinary right brain.I woman with an ordinary Indian background with God gifted power and chasing the dream to its peak and hurdling the objections in the path must be highly inspiring everyone. This is one side of the story. The other side perfectly blended with real emotions, relations, and raw life facts. This blending was picturized in the most convincing way in each frame by film script dialogue and direction (Nayanika, Ishita, and Anu respectively). More importantly, Vidhya Balan is living in the movie as Sakunthala in every frame. She is amazingly expressive in every action and reaction. Perhaps, Vidhya's preciseness in acting is unparallel and I can't think about any other actress in place of her in this movie. The passion, energy vib, mannerism ...in fact the different makeovers of Vidhya is amazing. When seeing the movie, it tells us the magical and mathematical values of relations, motherhood, bonding beyond bonds, nationalism, woman empowerment, and many. Perfect editing, awesome cinematography, and smoothened background score along with poetically framed songs made the entire movie is a different experience. It is exactly not the tale of the Human-computer ...rather fine of the finest human emotions which may not be evident every time when it becomes evident we may not be able to vibe with reality.
