A Care to whom it was really needed ...
Angels EMCT program started in 2011 June aiming to provide primary emergency medical care to hapeles victims at site. Many lives were saved by this committed group which include 2 forgien body airway obstruction and few Prehospital cardiac arrest cases. Their active interventions in trauma scenario were commendable. Most these scenarios male Emct Angels played pivotal role.
Ms.Shimna is the Emct Angels volunteer of 3rd batch who witnessed a trauma case (60 year old lady)at Mavoor road mofusil bustand in last week. Nobody to help her and she was crying with intolerable pain ans agony .She had fracture and suspected dislocation shoulder. As Shimna received proper training ,she initiated first aid including immobilization and safely transported to hospital .She accompanied her and given all necessary care. I personally met the trauma victim and she expressed the whole hearted gratitude towards Angels EMCT .
When we seedling a great concept , surely the friuts will be sweat and may be its usefulness is evident after several years ...

NSS unit @ Calicut medical college in 1983
I am sharing a most nostalgic photo which was shared by my student Dr.Sheril (Mims mem)who retrieved it from his aunti's Album.
This was the team National Service Scheme of Calicut medical college (1983 to 84). I was the NSS coordinator during this tenure. We the first NSS unit of calicut medical college conducted 10 day camp in the CMC history. We adopted Peruvayal Panchayath and did a comprehensive health survey and did health care interventions with help of community medicine department. Prof .Anna Mani was hod and prof.CKJ panickar was principal. Their support was tremendous. This Nss team did a "bug hunt " in Kuthira vattom mental hospital. The health and hygienic condition was so pathetic on those days. This photo was so excited me when seeing again. My social initiatives were started from here .May this was my first social initiative in my life. I must be so thankful to Dr.MN Anvarudheen who introduced me to NSS.
I am so delighted to see my old friends and colleagues in this photo. I salute the team with great respect and love

MLC a post from emed India
Is Animal bite an MLC?
All bites which are Grievous in nature or endangering life of victim or suspected foul play should be made MLC.
Snake bite can kill the victim within 24 hours, & many cases of foul play has been reported in which snakes were put in pot intentionally by rivals to kill others for property.
And it becomes non-bailable offence under 328 IPC (grievous hurt by poison).
If a farmer dies due to snake bite while working in fields, than Rs 50,000 compensation is given by Forest department under Wildlife protection act.
Same is applicable in death by bites by wild cats like Lion, Tiger, Leopard & Fox.
So hurt by all wild animals is MLC for claiming compensation. Recently, a man fell in Delhi Zoo in Tiger's cage, Govt provided 1lakh to the next of kin after it was proven in postmortem done in AIIMS that the man died due to tiger bite, due to negligence of zoo authorities in protecting visitors.
Human bite is an MLC, because it is intentional harm done, Mike tyson bited the ear of his rival player & resulted in permanent disfiguration of face.
Indian Law takes Human bite by cutting canine teeth as sharp weapon, & becomes non-bailable offence under 324 IPC (grievous hurt by sharp weapon).
Unprovoked Dog bite can be MLC, if bitten by pet dog because it is suspected foul play.
Police complaints are made that two neighbours, during mutual quarrel ordered the tamed pet dog to bite the other neighbour to settle scores.
Since dogbite can lead to rabies, a life threatening infection, so it is bailable offence 270 IPC (Malignant act likely to spread infectious disease dangerous to life) with imprisonment of 2 yrs.
