Pharmacist alumni meet and Emergency Medical Care

How many of our Alumni meet to think about to organize life support training as one of the agendas in the program?? Very less or almost nil. Today I have instrumental in providing hands-on training to 80 (Pharmacists) Alumni members of National College of pharmacy through Aster Volunteers and get together was arranged in Rain country resorts, Lakkidi, Wayanad. They have their celebrations in the resort. They also found a needy training session. We don't know to whom, when and where someone needs life-saving efforts. When looking back, this awareness is commendable

Sometimes is a beautiful Priyadarsan movie streaming in Netflix since 2016. I watched it recently. Very sharply framed storyboard which portrayed most realistically. The Story based on seven people coming to a lab for HIV testing. The movie tells many things to us. It not only tells us about the dreaded disease AIDS but also reveal professionalism in healthcare. The highly impressive direction of the movie and its craftsmanship made it a different experience. First to last fame is live realistic and it will take us into the film. Priyan showed us again, and just a room is more than enough to create a movie of great value.
The movie is in Tamil with English subtitles. But to enjoy and understand the film, language is not a barrier. The presentation is so vivid and realistic. The actors like Prakash Raj, Shreya Reddy, Ashok Selvan and others not acting in the movie.  They are passionately live in the scenes.

Drugs and Toxins induced seizures in Emergency departments

1. Seizures are the outward manifestation of abnormal electrical activity in the brain. • Direct intoxication from known poisons or psychotropic drugs, withdrawal from medications or alcohol, or idiosyncratic reactions to pharmaceuticals cause seizure
2.  • Toxin changes in brain chemistry • Promote aberrant electro-cerebral responses which cause seizures • Drug- and toxin-associated seizures (DTSs) differ in etiology but may demonstrate
3. DTS- How it differs? • Postictal state - confused • Ongoing electrical, subclinical status epilepticus • Continuous display electrical activities in the brain even after cessation of convulsion • Aura - unlikely • Features of partial seizure-like lateralized gaze and head deviation are rare

ഒരു പാട് ബോധവത്കരണ പരിപാടികൾ ഒക്കെ നടക്കുന്നുണ്ടെങ്കിലും കേരളത്തിലെ റോഡ് അപകടങ്ങളുടെ നിരക്കിൽ കാര്യമായ ഒരു കുറവ് വരുത്താൻ നമ്മുക്കായിട്ടില്ല . സ്റ്റേറ്റ് പോലീസിന്റെ വെബ്സൈറ്റിലെ കണക്കുകൾ ഇവിടെ ചേർക്കാം. 2017 ൽ റോഡ് അപകടങ്ങളിലും മരണനിരക്കിലും ഒരു നേരിയ കുറവ് ഉണ്ടായിട്ടുണ്ട് എന്നത് ആശാവഹമാണെങ്കിലും നാം , ഇനിയും ഒരുപാടു മുന്നോട്ടു പോകേണ്ടതെയിട്ടുണ്ട് .
റോഡ് അപകടങ്ങളുടെ കാരണം പലതാകാം . എന്നാൽ പോലീസിന്റെ തന്നെ കണക്കിൽ കാണിക്കുന്നത് വളരെ പ്രധാനപ്പെട്ട ഒരു കാര്യമാണ് . 86 ശതമാനം കേസുകളിലും ഡ്രൈവറുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ടുള്ള കാര്യങ്ങളാണ് അപകടങ്ങൾക്കും മരണങ്ങൾക്കും മറ്റു ദുരവസ്ഥക്കും കാരണം . അപകടത്തിൽ പെടുന്നവരിൽ സിംഹഭാഗവും ചെറുപ്പക്കാരും അതിൽ തന്നെ നല്ലൊരു ശതമാനം ഇരുചക്ര വാഹനക്കാരും കാല്നടക്കാരുമാണ് .

ഈ നിരീക്ഷണങ്ങൾക്ക് വലിയ പ്രാധാന്യമുണ്ട് .കാരണം അത് പൂർണമായും തടയാവുന്നതാണ് , ഒഴിവാക്കാവുന്നതാണ് .
ഡ്രൈവറുമായ ബന്ധപ്പെട്ടുള്ള അപകട കാരണങ്ങൾ പലതാണ് .
അശ്രദ്ധയോടെ ഉള്ള ഡ്രൈവിംഗ് , മദ്യം ലഹരി എന്നിവ ഉപയോഗിച്ചു വണ്ടി ഓടിക്കുന്നത് , മൊബൈൽ ഫോണിൽ സംസാരിച്ചുകൊണ്ടുള്ള ഡ്രൈവിംഗ് ,അമിതാവേശവും മത്സരബുദ്ധിയോടെയും ഉള്ള ഡ്രൈവിംഗ് , ക്ഷീണിച്ചിരിക്കുമ്പോൾ വണ്ടി ഓടിക്കുന്നത് , ഉറങ്ങി പോകുന്നത് , അമിത വേഗം , ട്രാഫിക് നിയമങ്ങളുടെ ലങ്കനം , പരിചയക്കുറവ് , കാഴ്ചയും കേൾവിയും സംബന്ധിച്ച കാര്യങ്ങൾ , ഡ്രൈവറുടെ ആരോഗ്യ പ്രശ്നങ്ങളുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ട കാര്യങ്ങൾ , ഡ്രൈവറുടെ മാനസിക പ്രശ്നങ്ങളുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ട കാര്യങ്ങൾ ,ഡ്രൈവറുടെ അറിവില്ലായ്മ തുടങ്ങി അപകടങ്ങളിലേക്കു നയിക്കുന്ന കാര്യങ്ങൾ പലതാണ് .
ഹെൽമെറ്റ് ധരിക്കാത്തതൊ അതല്ലെങ്കിൽ ശരിയായി ധരിക്കാത്തതോ അതുപോലെ സീറ്റ് ബെൽറ്റ് ധരിക്കത്തും അപകടങ്ങളിലെ പരിക്കുകളുടെ കാഠിന്യം വർദ്ധിപ്പിക്കുന്നു . ഹെൽമെറ്റ് പിന്നിലെ യാത്രക്കാരും ധരിക്കേണ്ടതാണ് . അതുപോലെ സീറ്റ് ബെൽറ്റുബെൽറ്റും .
അപകടത്തിന്നിരയാവുന്ന പിൻ സീറ്റ് യാത്രക്കാരുടെ മരണനിരക്കും ഗുരുതരാവസ്ഥയും ഇന്ന് ഗണ്യമായ കൂടിയിരിക്കയാണ് എന്ന് ആശുപത്രിയിലെ കണക്കുകൾ പറയുന്നു .

86 percent of Kerala road accidents are driver driven!!

Recent accident with Balabaskar: child died. Balabaskar and wife are critical. Likely driver slept. 2017 -18 statistics on road accidents in Kerala by Kerala police: 86 percent of total accidents and mortality are purely driver driven. Only 14 percent cause rest of the causes. If we focus on drivers only we can bring down RTA and deaths plus morbidity by more than 80 percent. Everyone should think loudly

Further on this note, the injury pattern described in the newspaper pointing towards the compulsory seat belt for back seat passengers and separate seat belt for children. Indian laws insisted the same following Union minister Gopinath Mundai’s accident in Delhi. Unfortunately, the "brilliance" of Kerala state Government locked the rule in Kerala high court (During Thrivanjiyoor Days). The present ministry is also seemly not much concerned about this issue. Disaster tourism a note by Unnithan Road safety authority

What a very bad habit we are following.  Disaster tourism?.  When the whole state is in a fear of a natural disaster,  people are enjoining with selfy at some of the dangerous spots.  Heard people screaming with joy when the dam shutter was opened. It was opened in a situation where unexpected rain fall almost filled the dam.  All efforts were made to avoid opening it considering flood,  loss of money, and thousands of people who will be affected when such emergency situation arises.  It is not a monkeys play to handle a alarming rise of water which was not at all foreseen because a sudden wave rise in Orissa seas was unpredicted. No human being can enjoy a disaster in such a barbaric way we kerala public behaved.  

As said earlier all teams including central disaster management  team were ready to tackle any emergency. Flood and calamities are not able to predict hundred percent. 

When shutters were opened all areas where paddy fields and wet land were destroyed by us by building houses were the most affected.  This is high time we think of protecting nature as its original state.

We are drawn back to Robert Malthus who has clearly predicted in his theory of population. 

We are building more concrete houses as population is increasing alarmingly, where as land is not. Nature has to keep the equilibrium. 

My concern is not this please do not celebrate a disaster.  Please do not flutter the morale of experts who were restlessly working round the clock to protect lives. 

Do not take a calamity as a tourism event. 

Be a true citizen .Patriotic human beings enjoy a disaster and criticise the efforts.

 *കോഴിക്കോട്ടെ സ്വകാര്യ ആംബുലൻസുകളുടെ നിപ്പാ യാത്ര*

ഇരുപത്തി അഞ്ചിനും ഇരുപത്തി ആറിനും നിപ്പാ രോഗം സ്ഥിരീകരിച്ചവരുമായി അടുത്തിടപഴകിയ മൂന്ന് പേരെ മെഡിക്കൽ കോളേജിലേക്ക് കൊണ്ടുപോയി. അവിടെ തുടങ്ങുന്നു എയ്ഞ്ചൽസിന്റെ കോർഡിനേഷനോട് കൂടി കോഴിക്കോട്ടെ സ്വകാര്യ ആംബുലൻസുകളുടെ നിപ്പാ യാത്ര. 

 *മൃതദേഹങ്ങൾ ശ്‌മശാനത്തിലേക്ക് കൊണ്ട് പോകാൻ* 

o    ഇരുപത്തി ആറാം തിയതി വൈകുന്നേരം വന്ന ഡെപ്യൂട്ടി കളക്ടർ ശ്രീ. കൃഷ്ണൻകുട്ടിയുടെ ഫോൺ കോൾ. അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ സങ്കടത്തോടെയുള്ള ‘ഒരു മരണമുണ്ട്’ നമ്മുടെ കല്യാണിയമ്മ, ഒരു ആംബുലൻസ് വേണം എന്ന വാക്കുകൾ . പിന്നെ ഞാനും ജസ്ലി റഹ്മാനും വിളികൾ തുടങ്ങി. അവസാനം വിളി പുരുഷുവേട്ടനിലെത്തി. പുരുഷു, നമുക്ക് മെഡിക്കൽ കോളേജിൽ നിന്ന് ഒരു മൃതദേഹം ശ്മശാനത്തിലേക്ക് കൊണ്ട് പോകാനുണ്ട്. ഇന്ന് നിപ്പ കാരണം മരണപ്പെട്ട കല്യാണിയമ്മയുടേതാണത്. പതിനഞ്ചോളം ആംബുലൻസുകളെ വിളിച്ചു, പക്ഷെ ആരും തയ്യാറല്ല. വേറെ ഒരു ചോദ്യവും ഇല്ലാതെ ഞാൻ വേഗം തന്നെ എത്താമെന്ന് ഏയ്ഞ്ചൽസ് ഇഎംസിടി കൂടിയായ പുരുഷോത്തമൻ.

o    അടുത്ത ദിവസം മരിച്ചത് രണ്ടു പേർ. വിളിച്ചത് രജീഷിനെ. ഒരു പേടിയും ഇല്ലാതെ പറഞ്ഞു, അരുണും രാജു സി ബേബിയും അടങ്ങിയ എന്റെ ടീം റെഡി. പിന്നെ പറഞ്ഞ വാക്കുകൾ മനസ്സിൽ തട്ടി. ഞങ്ങൾ ഇത് വരെ എത്ര പേരെ  കൊണ്ടുപോയിട്ടുണ്ട്, ഒരു മുൻകരുതലും എടുക്കാതെ, രോഗികളെയും മൃത ശരീരത്തെയും. പിന്നെ ഒരു ചോദ്യവും ‘സാറേ, എനിക്ക് എന്തെങ്കിലും സംഭവിച്ചാൽ എന്റെ കുടുംബത്തെ സർക്കാർ നോക്കില്ലേ?’. ഞാൻ പറഞ്ഞു, രജീഷേ, ഒന്ന് കൊണ്ടും പേടിക്കേണ്ട. എല്ലാ സജ്ജീകരങ്ങളോടും കൂടിയേ നിങ്ങളെ അവിടെ അടുപ്പിക്കുകയുള്ളൂ. എല്ലാം നിയന്ത്രിച്ചു കൊണ്ട് കോർപറേഷനിലെ ഡോക്ടർ ഗോപകുമാർ അവിടെ നിങ്ങളിലൊരുവനായി ഉണ്ടാവും. എല്ലാ മൃതശരീരത്തെയും അകമ്പടി സേവിച്ചു ജാതി മത ഭേദമന്യേ അന്ത്യകർമങ്ങൾ ചെയ്യാൻ അവസാനം വരെ നിന്ന ഇദ്ദേഹത്തെ നമിക്കുന്നു.

o    കൂടാതെ ഐ.എസ്എം  ചാരിറ്റബിൾ ട്രസ്റ്റിന്റെ   അബ്ദുൽ സലാമും മൃതദേഹങ്ങൾ ശ്‌മശാനത്തിലേക്ക് കൊണ്ട് പോകാൻ സ്വമേധയാ വന്നു. ശവസംസ്കാരത്തിനായി എട്ട് പ്രാവശ്യം പോയത് പുരുഷോത്തമൻ, അരുൺ, രാജു, അബ്ദുൽ സലാം എന്നിവരാണ്. എല്ലാവര്ക്കും സുരക്ഷാ വസ്ത്രങ്ങൾ നൽകുന്നു , ഇത് പിന്നീട് കത്തിച്ചു കളയും. ഓരോ കേസ് കഴിഞ്ഞാലും വാഹനം ബ്ലീച്ചിങ് പൌഡർ ലായനി ഉപയോഗിച്ച് കഴുകി വാട്ടർ സർവീസ് ചെയ്യും. വാടക ഉടൻ തന്നെ ഡോക്ടർ ഗോപകുമാർ നൽകും.

o    ഡെപ്യൂട്ടി കളക്ടർ ശ്രീ. കൃഷ്ണൻകുട്ടിയുടെ ഫോൺ കോൾ കാണുമ്പോൾ ഉള്ളിലൊരു ഭയം. അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ സങ്കടത്തോടെയുള്ള ‘ഒരു മരണവും കൂടി’ , ഒരു ആംബുലൻസ് വേണം എന്ന വാക്കുകൾ കേൾക്കുമ്പോൾ അറിയാതെ ഇടറിപ്പോയി. ‘നിപ്പായെന്ന ആ കൊടും ഭീകരന്റെ താണ്ഡവം ഓർത്തു’. പിന്നെ ആംബുലൻസുകൾ വിളിച്ചു തയ്യാറാക്കും. അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ കോളുകൾ ഇനി വരല്ലേ എന്ന പ്രാർത്ഥനയായിരുന്നു പിന്നെ.

o    രാത്രി നമസ്കാര വേളകളിലും നോമ്പ് തുറ സമയത്തും പല പ്രാവശ്യം പുറത്തു പോയി കോളുകൾ എടുക്കേണ്ട അവസ്ഥകൾ വന്ന ദിനങ്ങൾ. രാവിലെ ഒപിയിലും ഇടവിടാതെ ഫോണുകൾ. പക്ഷെ തളർന്നില്ല, നമ്മുടെ ആരോഗ്യ മേഖലയുടെയും കളക്ടറുടെ നേതൃത്വത്തിലുള്ള ജില്ലാ ഭരണകൂടത്തിന്റെയും കൂടെ എൻജിഒ ആയ എയ്ഞ്ചൽസിന്റെ നിപാ ദൗത്യ സാരഥിയായി പ്രവർത്തിച്ചപ്പോൾ. കൂടെ എല്ലാ സഹായങ്ങളുമായി  വടകരയിലെ കെ.എം. അബ്ദുള്ള ഡോക്ടറും ശ്രീ. ജസ്ലി റഹ്മാനും ഡോക്ടർ വേണുഗോപാലും ഹംസ മാസ്റ്ററും ശ്രീ. മുസ്തഫയും  ശ്രീ. മാത്യു സി കുളങ്ങരയും   ബിജുവും ശരത്തും സജിത്തും സത്യനാരായണനും സുലൈമാനും ലിൻസും എല്ലാ പിന്തുണയും നൽകി.

o    എയ്ഞ്ചൽസും സർക്കാരിന്റെ ഭാഗമായി മാറിയ ആഴ്ചകൾ. 

 

 *ആംബുലൻസ് ഡ്രൈവർമാരുടെ മീറ്റിംഗ്* 

o    ആംബുലൻസ് ഡ്രൈവർമാരുടെ പേടിയും അവരുടെ അറിവില്ലായ്മ കൊണ്ടുള്ള അശാസ്ത്രീയ ഇടപെടലുകളെക്കുറിച്ചും കളക്ടറെ അറിയിച്ചപ്പോൾ അദ്ദേഹം മുൻകൈ എടുത്ത് ജില്ലയിലെ ആംബുലൻസ് ഡ്രൈവർമാരുടെ മീറ്റിംഗ് അടുത്ത ദിവസത്തെ ആദ്യ പരിപാടിയായി തന്നെ വിളിച്ചു.

o    അമ്പതോളം പേർ പങ്കെടുത്ത പരിപാടിയിൽ വിചാരിക്കാതെ ഒരു വിശിഷ്ട വ്യക്തിയെയും  അദ്ദേഹം ഉൾപ്പെടുത്തി, ഗതാഗത മന്ത്രി ശ്രീ. എ. കെ. ശശീന്ദ്രൻ.

o    നമ്മുടെ കോഴിക്കോടിന്റെ മന്ത്രിയുടെ സാന്നിധ്യവും നാടിന്റെ നന്മയ്ക്കു വേണ്ടി ഈ പ്രതിസന്ധിയിൽ നിങ്ങൾ കൂടെയുണ്ടാവണമെന്നും , സർക്കാർ നിങ്ങൾക്കൊപ്പം ഉണ്ടാവും എന്ന മന്ത്രിയുടെ പ്രസ്താവനയും അന്ന് വന്നവരെ ആവേശത്തിലാക്കി.

o    അന്ന് അവർക്ക് കൊടുത്ത ക്ലാസും അവരെ ഉണർത്തി . സുരക്ഷാ ഉപകരണങ്ങൾ എങ്ങനെ ധരിക്കണമെന്നും അഴിച്ചു മാറ്റണമെന്നും  അണുബാധ തടയാനുള്ള മാർഗങ്ങളെ കുറിച്ചും ആംബുലൻസ് വൃത്തിയാകുന്നതിനെക്കുറിച്ചും ക്ലാസുകൾ ഡോക്ടർ മൈക്കിലും ഡോക്ടർ വേണുഗോപാലും എടുത്തു.

o    തുടർന്ന് നാൽപ്പതോളം ആംബുലൻസുകൾ സന്നദ്ധരായി നമ്മുടെ സർക്കാരിന്റെ കൂടെകൂടി. ഏറ്റവും നല്ല പബ്ലിക് പ്രൈവറ്റ് പാർട്ടിസിപേഷൻ മോഡൽ. അത് ഏകോപിപ്പിക്കാൻ എയ്‌ഞ്ചൽസ് ടീം അംഗങ്ങളും.

o    ഡെപ്യൂട്ടി ഡി എം ഓ ഡോക്ടർ സരളയുടെയും ഡെപ്യൂട്ടി കളക്ടർ ശ്രീ. കൃഷ്ണൻകുട്ടിയുടെയും എയ്ഞ്ചൽസിന്റെയും നേതൃത്വത്തിൽ  സന്നദ്ധരായവരെ ഏഴു സോണുകളായി തിരിച്ചു,

o    ഓരോ സോണിലുള്ളവരെയും തയ്യാറാക്കി നിർത്തി. പിന്നെയങ്ങോട്ട് കോളുകൾ വന്നു തുടങ്ങി.  പേരാമ്പ്രയിൽ നിന്നും ചെക്കിയാട് നിന്നും ബാലുശ്ശേരിയിൽ നിന്നും മുക്കത്തു നിന്നും ചാലിയത്ത്  നിന്നും ബീച്ച് ആശുപത്രിയിൽ നിന്നും പനിയുള്ളവരെ മെഡിക്കൽ കോളേജിലേക്ക് മാറ്റുന്ന ദൗത്യം  ഡെപ്യൂട്ടി ഡി.എം.ഓ ഡോക്ടർ സരളയും  നിപാ സെല്ലും ഞങ്ങളും കൂടി കോർഡിനെറ്റ് ചെയ്തു നിറവേറ്റി.

 

 *രോഗലക്ഷണങ്ങൾ ഉള്ളവരെ മെഡിക്കൽ കോളേജിലേക്ക്* 

o    നാളിതുവരെ ഇരുപത്തി അഞ്ചോളം രോഗലക്ഷണങ്ങൾ ഉള്ളവരെ ജില്ലയുടെ പല ഭാഗങ്ങളിൽ നിന്നായി മെഡിക്കൽ കോളേജിലേക്ക് കൊണ്ട് പോയി.

o    ആംബുലൻസ് ഡ്രൈവർമാരായ കൊയിലാണ്ടിയിലെ പുരുഷോത്തമനും കാരുണ്യ ആംബുലൻസിന്റെ രജീഷും നന്മണ്ടയിലെ അരുണും ചേളന്നൂരിലെ രാജു സി ബേബിയും  ഐ.എസ്.എമ്മിന്റെ മായനാട്ടെ അബ്ദുൽ സലാമും ചേളന്നൂരിലെ സജിത്തും താമരശ്ശേരിയിലെ വികാസും അബ്ബാസും മെഡിക്കൽ കോളേജിലെ കെ.പി.സി മുഹമ്മദ് കോയയും എരഞ്ഞിക്കലിലെ അജിത് കുമാറും പാലേരി- പാറക്കടവിലെ മനാഫും മിജാസും ആഷിഫും ഇരിങ്ങണ്ണൂരിലെ പ്രമോദും നിഷാദും കുന്നമംഗലത്തെ മുനീറും ഓമശ്ശേരിയിലെ  നിസാറും ബാലുശ്ശേരിയിലെ ശ്യാമും സഫീദും.

o    അരങ്ങത്തെ ഇവരുടെ അകമഴിഞ്ഞ പിന്തുണയും നിസ്സ്വാർത്ഥ സേവനവും അതാണ് ദൗത്യം നിറവേറ്റപ്പെടാൻ സഹായിച്ചത്.

o    എപ്പോൾ വിളിച്ചാലും വരുന്ന ഓരോ സോണിലുള്ള രണ്ടോ മൂന്നോ ആംബുലൻസുകളിൽ ഹെൽത്ത് ഡിപ്പാർട്മെന്റ് നൽകിയ പി.പി.ഇ. കിറ്റ് നൽകി ഏയ്ഞ്ചൽസ് അവരെ സജ്ജീകരിച്ചു.

o    മറ്റെല്ലാ ആംമ്പുലൻസുകളിലും ഗ്ലൗസും മാസ്കും ഹാൻഡ്‌റബും എയ്ഞ്ചൽസും നൽകി അവരെയും സജ്ജരാക്കി.

o    കൂടാതെ എല്ലാ സോണുകളിലെയും ഹെൽത്ത് സെന്ററുകളിലും അത്യാവശ്യ ഘട്ടത്തിൽ കളക്ടറേറ്റിലെ ഐഡിഎസ്പി സെല്ലിലും പിപിഇ കിറ്റ് ഏതു സമയവും പോയാൽ ബുദ്ധിമുട്ടുകളൊന്നുമില്ലാതെ ഈ ഡ്രൈവർമാർക്ക് കിട്ടുന്ന സംവിധാനവുമൊരുക്കി.

o    ഫോൺ കോളുകളുമായി എല്ലാം കോർഡിനേറ്റ് ചെയ്തു.       

o    പലർക്കും ഉണ്ടായി പല അനുഭവങ്ങളും. ലിനിയുടെ കുട്ടികളെ മെഡിക്കൽ കോളേജിലേക്ക് കൊണ്ട് വന്നത് മിജാസ് ആയിരുന്നു. കുട്ടികളെ വീട്ടിൽ നിന്നോ പേരാമ്പ്ര താലൂക്ക് ആശുപത്രിയിൽ നിന്നോ ആംബുലൻസിൽ കയറ്റാൻ പറ്റാത്ത അവസ്ഥ. അവസാനം മെയിൻ റോഡിൽ വന്നു ആരും കാണാതെ ആംബുലൻസിൽ കയറി.

o    ചില വണ്ടികളെ ഈ പേരും പറഞ്ഞു ആരും വേറെ ഓട്ടത്തിന് വിളിക്കാതായി. എങ്കിലും അവർ തളർന്നില്ല. ഇപ്പോഴും കൂടെ നിൽക്കുന്നു.

o    ബഹുമാനപ്പെട്ട നമ്മുടെ കളക്ടർ ജോസേട്ടൻ മീറ്റിംഗിൽ പറഞ്ഞത് പോലെ. അതാണ് നമ്മുടെ കോഴിക്കോട്ടുകാരുടെ സ്നേഹവും അർപ്പണ മനോഭാവവും.

o    ആംബുലൻസ് ഡ്രൈവർമാർക്കുള്ള പേയ്‌മെന്റ് വൈകില്ലെന്ന കളക്ടറുടെ വാഗ്ദാനാം നിറവേറ്റാൻ വേണ്ടി സമയോചിതമായി ഏയ്ഞ്ചൽസ് നൽകി. ഡിഎംഒ ഓഫിസിൽ നിന്ന് എയ്ഞ്ചൽസിനു തിരിച്ചു കിട്ടും.

 

 *ഏയ്ഞ്ചൽസ് എങ്ങനെ ഭാഗമായി ?* 

o    ജില്ലാ കളക്ടർ ചെയർമാനായുള്ള എയ്ഞ്ചൽസിനെ പ്രതിനിധീകരിച്ചു ആദ്യത്തെ സർക്കാരിതര മീറ്റിംഗിൽ തന്നെ നിപാ ടാസ്ക് ഫോഴ്സിൽ ഞാൻ അംഗമായി.

o    അടുത്ത ദിവസം വിളിച്ച ഡിസാസ്റ്റർ മാനേജ്‌മന്റ് അതോറിറ്റി മീറ്റിംഗിലും നമ്മുടെ ആശയങ്ങൾ പങ്കുവെക്കാനും പ്രാവർത്തികമാക്കാനും സാധിച്ചു.

o    സർക്കാരിന്റെ കൂടെ തന്നെ ഇറങ്ങി എയ്ഞ്ചൽസ്. കൂടെ എന്ത് ആവശ്യം വന്നാലും പരിശീലനം ലഭിച്ച മുന്നൂറോളം എയ്ഞ്ചൽസ് വളണ്ടിയർമാരും.

 

 *എല്ലാ അഭിനന്ദനങ്ങളും ഈ ടീമിന്*  

o    ഇപ്പോൾ സ്ഥിതി ശാന്തമായതിന്റെ സന്തോഷവും. ഇനി ആരും വരല്ലേ എന്ന പ്രാർത്ഥനയും. നമ്മുടെ സിസ്റ്റം ഇത്ര ഫലപ്രദമാണെന്ന് തെളിയിച്ച നിമിഷങ്ങൾ.’കേരള മോഡൽ ഹെൽത്ത് കെയർ’ ഒരു മാതൃക തന്നെ.

o    ആരോഗ്യ വകുപ്പിനെ കൊണ്ട് മാത്രം ചെയ്യേണ്ട കാര്യമല്ല ഇത് എന്ന് മനസ്സിലാക്കി മെഡിക്കൽ കാര്യങ്ങളൊക്കെ ആരോഗ്യ വകുപ്പിന് വിട്ടിട്ട് ഓവർ ഓൾ  കോർഡിനേഷൻ ഏറ്റെടുത്തു കൊണ്ട് രാപ്പകൽ എന്നില്ലാതെ ജില്ലാ കളക്ടർ ശ്രീ. യു. വി. ജോസും ജില്ലാ ദുരന്ത നിവാരണ അതോറിറ്റിയും ടീമും പ്രയത്നിച്ചു. അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ ടീമിന്റെ കൂടെ എയ്ഞ്ചൽസ് ഉൾപ്പെടെ ജില്ലയിലെ സന്നദ്ധ സംഘടനകളെയും കൂടി തയ്യാറാക്കി വച്ചു. 

o    സർക്കാർ നിർദ്ദേശമനുസരിച്ചു പൊതുപരിപാടികളൊക്കെ ഒഴിവാക്കി തികഞ്ഞ ശ്രദ്ധയും മുൻകരുതലുകളും എടുത്ത നമ്മുടെ നാട്ടുകാരും രോഗവും മരണസംഖ്യയും കുറക്കാൻ സഹായിച്ചു.

o    കൂടാതെ വസ്തുതകൾ മാത്രം കൊടുത്ത മാധ്യമങ്ങളും അവരുടെ കടമ നിറവേറ്റി.

o    തെറ്റായ ചില ആശങ്കാജനകമായ വാർത്തകൾ ജനങ്ങളിലേക്ക് എത്തിച്ചു കൂടെ തന്നെ പ്രയത്നിച്ചു, ചില സാമൂഹ്യ വിരുദ്ധർ,സാമൂഹ്യ മാധ്യമങ്ങളിലൂടെ. ആധികാരികത പരിശോധിക്കാതെ മെസ്സേജുകൾ ഫോർവേഡ് ചെയ്യുന്ന നമ്മുടെ പ്രവണത ഈ യുദ്ധത്തിൽ ഒരു വൻ വെല്ലുവിളി തന്നെ ഉയർത്തി.

 *നമുക്ക് നൽകുന്ന പാഠം* 

·          മാരകമായ വൈറൽ ഇന്ഫെക്ഷനുകൾ ആയ എബോളയും മാർബർഗും ഹാന്റയും വെസ്റ്റ് നൈലും നിപായുമൊക്കെ നമ്മൾ ഒട്ടും പ്രതീക്ഷിക്കാത്തതാണ്. അത് നമ്മുടെ നാട്ടിലും വരാം, നമ്മൾ എപ്പോഴും കരുതിയിരിക്കണം എന്ന ഒരു താക്കീതും നമുക്ക് നൽകിക്കൊണ്ടാണ് നിപ്പാ എന്ന പുതിയ അതിഥി നമ്മോടു വിട വാങ്ങുന്നത്.

·          പകർച്ച വ്യാധികൾക്കെതിരെ നമ്മൾ സദാ മുന്കരുതലുകൾ എടുക്കണം എന്ന സന്ദേശവും നിപ്പയും ഡെങ്കിയും എലിപ്പനിയും മലമ്പനിയും നമ്മുടെ മുമ്പിൽ വെയ്ക്കുന്നു. നമ്മൾ ഓരോരുത്തരും വിചാരിച്ചാൽ തടയാൻ പറ്റുന്ന രോഗങ്ങളാണ് പകർച്ച വ്യാധികൾ. പക്ഷെ നമ്മൾ വിചാരിക്കുന്നില്ല എന്നുള്ളതാണ് വാസ്തവം. ഒത്തു പിടിച്ചാൽ നമുക്ക് തടയാം എന്ന സന്ദേശനമാണ് നിപ്പാ നൽകുന്നത്.

·          അതിഥി സൽക്കാര പ്രിയരായ കേരളക്കാരുടെ ദൗര്ബല്യത്തെ ഇവർ മുതലെടുക്കുന്നില്ല എന്ന് നാം തന്നെ ഉറപ്പു വരുത്തണം . എന്ന് പഠിപ്പിച്ചു നിപ്പാ.

·          ഇനി കൂടുതൽ അതിഥികൾ നമ്മെ ബുദ്ധമുട്ടിക്കില്ല എന്ന് നമുക്ക് പ്രാർത്ഥിക്കാം.

·          സുനാമി വരുന്നു എന്നറിഞ്ഞപ്പോൾ കാണാൻ കടപ്പുറത്തേക്ക് പോയ നമ്മൾ, കാണാൻ പറ്റാത്ത നിപ്പാ വന്നപ്പോൾ രോഗീ സന്ദർശനങ്ങൾ നിർത്തി, ഹോസ്പിറ്റൽ ടൂറിസം ഒഴിവാക്കി. ജലദോഷവും ചുമയും മാരകമായ അസുഖങ്ങൾ അല്ലാതായ ദിനങ്ങൾ. മെഡിക്കൽ കോളേജുകൾ ഉൾപ്പെടെ ആശുപത്രികളിൽ രോഗികൾ പാടേ കുറഞ്ഞ ദിനങ്ങൾ.  

·          വെള്ളപ്പൊക്കമുണ്ടായപ്പോൾ വെള്ളത്തിൽ നിന്ന് വീഡിയോ എടുത്ത മാധ്യമങ്ങളെയാവട്ടെ, ലൈവ് അപ്ഡേറ്റ് എടുക്കാൻ ക്യാമെറകളും കൊണ്ട് പല സ്ഥലങ്ങളിലും കണ്ടില്ല.

 *ശക്തപ്പെടുത്തണം നമ്മുടെ ദുരന്ത നിവാരണ സിസ്റ്റം* 

·       ഏറ്റവും നല്ല പാഠം നമ്മുടെ നാട്ടിൽ ദുരന്തങ്ങൾ ഉണ്ടായാൽ എന്തു ചെയ്യണം എന്ന ഡിസാസ്റ്റർ പ്രിപ്പയർഡ്നെസ്സ് ഇല്ല എന്നുള്ള ഒരു സത്യവുമാണ്. ഡിസാസ്റ്റർ അഥവാ ദുരന്തങ്ങൾ വരുമ്പോൾ നമ്മൾ പ്രവർത്തിക്കേണ്ട ഡിസാസ്റ്റർ റെസ്പോൺസിന്റെ സമയത്താണ് നമ്മൾ പ്രിപ്പയർഡ്നെസ്സിലേക്കു പോകുന്നത്. അത് പക്ഷെ നമുക്ക് വിലപ്പെട്ട  സമയം നഷ്ടം വരുത്താം.

·       ഓരോ വില്ലേജ് തലത്തിലും നമ്മൾ തദ്ദേശീയരെ ഉൾപ്പെടുത്തി പരിശീലനം നൽകി പല രീതിയിലുള്ള എമർജൻസി റെസ്ക്യൂ ടീമുകൾ ഉണ്ടാക്കണം. ഇത് ഗവണ്മെന്റ് സംവിധാനത്തെ ശക്തിപ്പെടുത്താൻ സഹായകരമാവും.

·       പ്രത്യേകിച്ച് മഴയും കാറ്റുമൊക്കെ കനത്തു വരുമ്പോൾ ഒരു പ്രകൃതി ദുരന്തത്തെ നേരിടാൻ നാം അടുത്ത തയ്യാറെടുപ്പ് നടത്താൻ സമയം ആയി, ഒന്നും ഉണ്ടാവില്ല എന്ന പ്രാർത്ഥനയോടെ

·       വേണം നമുക്ക് ഒരു ഡയറക്ടറി - തദ്ദേശീയ റെസ്ക്യൂ ടീമിന്റെയും റിസോഴ്സസിന്റെയും - ലൈറ്റ് ആൻഡ് സൗണ്ട്, ജെസിബി , ക്രൈൻ ഓപ്പറേറ്റർസ്, മുങ്ങൽ വിദഗ്ദ്ധർ, മരം വെട്ടുകാർ എന്നിങ്ങനെ ദുരന്തങ്ങളിൽ ആവശ്യം വരുന്നവരുടെയൊക്കെ. 

ഈ നിപാ ദൗത്യം വിശ്വാസതയൊടെ എയ്ഞ്ചൽസിനെ ഏൽപ്പിച്ച ജില്ലാ കളക്ടർക്കും വിജയകരമായി നിറവേറ്റാൻ സഹായിച്ച  എല്ലാവർക്കും കൃതജ്ഞതയോടെ,
